Wire harness wrapping design
Wire harness wrapping plays a role in wear resistance, flame retardancy, corrosion resistance, interference prevention, noise reduction, and aesthetic appearance. Generally, the following wrapping design schemes are developed based on the working environment and space size.
The working environment of the engine wiring harness is harsh, so it is wrapped with highly flame-retardant, waterproof, and mechanically strong threaded pipes.
The working environment of the front cabin line is relatively poor, with most branches wrapped in flame-retardant threaded pipes and some branches wrapped in PVC pipes.
The working space of the instrument line is relatively small and the environment is relatively good. It can be fully wrapped with tape or wrapped with flowers.
The working space for the door and canopy lines is relatively small, and they can be fully wrapped with tape. Some branches can be wrapped with industrial plastic cloth; The thinner canopy line can be directly adhered to the car with sponge tape.
The chassis line is wrapped with corrugated pipes to prevent wear and tear of the wiring harness, as there are many parts in contact with the vehicle body.
Exterior wrapped with adhesive tape
There are four methods for wrapping adhesive tape, namely wrapping partial adhesive tape, continuously wrapping adhesive tape at intervals, tightly wrapping 1/4 adhesive tape, and tightly wrapping 1/2 adhesive tape. When wrapping the tape, do not stretch the tape and wrap it around the wire. The appearance requirement is that even if it is bent at a right angle (at the tape wrapping point), the wire inside cannot be seen. The tape wrapping part should not be twisted, and the end should be peeled off.
Branch wrapping tape
The benchmark for wrapping adhesive tape on branches is to cross stick the two sides of the fork (inside and outside) to fix the wire. Wrap it more than two times, and the wrapping method is not to stretch the adhesive tape, but to wrap it carefully onto the wire. Do not twist or peel off the ends of the branch tape wrapping, as the wires cannot be seen after wrapping the tape.
Loosening adhesive tape
The specification of the adhesive tape for sparse wrapping is 10mm (w) → ≤φ 7 (outer diameter of the wire harness) 19mm (w) → ≤φ 7 or above - φ 25 (outer diameter of the wire harness), with the reference being that the size between the adhesive tapes is equivalent to the width of the tape, and the wires can be seen. When wrapping the adhesive tape in a short area of less than 50mm or when there are less than 5 wires, if the overlap between the adhesive tapes is less than 1/2, it is considered as loose wrapping.
Wrap adhesive tape around the multi wire crimping part
The method of wrapping the adhesive tape around the multi line crimping part is to wrap it in half (overlapping by more than one and a half circles) with size A of 10mm or more, and wrap it 2-3 times. To prevent the adhesive tape from tipping over, it should be carefully pressed at the end of the wrapping.
The above are the methods for wrapping car wiring harnesses, each with its specific usage scenarios and operating steps, which need to be selected according to actual situations and needs.
